The Bowleaze Cove landscape is dominated by the iconic Riviera Hotel, a Grade II listed, Spanish style hotel. It was built in the 1930s, used during World War II as an evacuee hospital and was purchased by Pontins as a holiday camp in the late 1950s. The Riviera continued to operate as a hotel until it was sold to the present owners in 2009 who have invested over £7 million into the new Riviera Hotel.
